Anxiety is a feeling of apprehension, it can be caused by a fear producing situation which everyone has experienced or there may be no conscious reason for what produces the unpleasant feeling. In which case the cause lies in the unconscious mind. If the anxiety is not treated it often leads to panic attacks, which can be very frightening.
Some people will seek help from their doctor and may be given medication or referred for therapy such as CBT or Counselling. Others prefer to find the answer themselves by visiting a Hypnotherapist.
Hypnotherapy can relieve the anxiety by relaxing the person. They can be taught self Hypnosis or be given a relaxation CD to listen to. It will take a few sessions for them to have total control over the anxiety and to learn how to relax, without any medication needed.
